Nichia Expands Its Successful E17 Series with Color Versions

Nichia uses phosphor conversion for the colored E17 LEDs. This means that a blue LED chip is always used, which in combination with a special phosphor layer emits the desired color. The existing portfolio of monochromatic color LEDs, whose respective light color is created by a special semiconductor material, has thus been sensibly expanded.
Since the chips used have the same electrical properties (wavelength, forward voltage, directivity, height), the E17 series LEDs are perfect for applications with a wide color spectrum. This enables RGBW or even RGBWA modules, for example. The color-flexible LEDs also open up completely new possibilities in architecture and interior design.
