LightingEurope Strongly Recommends not Applying Amendments on Tolerances Before the “Single Lighting Regulation” is in Place

“Furthermore, the CoolProducts proposal will amend 244/2009, 245/2009 and 1194/2012 and proposes first action on 31st of August 2018.
However, the “Single Lighting Regulation” is currently already in preparation at the Commission and is planned to replace all existing regulations by September 2018.
Any changes to the existing regulations will therefore have a minimal or zero effect and appears to be an unnecessary waste of time and effort,” added de Stoppelaar.
“Instead it would put additional administrative burden on the European Union as any change has to be taken into account in resulting and linked regulations as well.“
Therefore, LightingEurope strongly recommends moving this topic to the consultation for the “Single Lighting Regulation”, where all stakeholders will have an equal chance to share their view on the proposal of CoolProducts and allow sufficient time for the impact to be considered.
