Instrument Systems Enables TM30-15 Conform SSL Measurements

CRI has been the industry reference for decades when it comes to measuring the color quality of light. Nevertheless, CRI is a pure fidelity metric and does not convey exact color appearance e.g. saturated colors. Therefore, in 2015, the Illuminating Engineering Society published IES TM-30-15 as a new method for evaluating the color rendition of light sources. TM-30-15 is a more accurate fidelity and also a gamut metric with additional information and graphical representations.

In addition to classical color analysis, Instrument Systems’ SpecWin Pro software allows evaluations according to this new TM 30-15 method. Besides the two main characteristics, fidelity and gamut index, graphical analyses by Hue Bin tables and color vector graphics are also employed.
