ALANOD Holding GmbH acquires interest in WhiteOptics LLC
Alanod announced that on 20 August 2012 ALANOD Holding GmbH acquired shares in WhiteOptics LLC. in rigorous pursuit of its strategy to consolidate and advance its leading role in the market for high‐quality technical surface design.
Focused on developing and manufacturing innovative products to optimise the efficiency and design in lighting technology, the underlying objective of the two companies is seen as a fertile basis for joint, steady growth.
WhiteOptics LLC. produces the patented White97 and White98™ product lines and leads the global market for diffuse, highly reflective surfaces. The demand for these products is growing with an ever more persistent call for greater energy efficiency and LED‐based change in lighting technology.
Having revolutionised the lighting industry with its key products MIRO® and MIRO‐SILVER® as highly reflective, PVD‐coated aluminium surfaces, the holding’s parent company ALANOD GmbH & Co. KG dominates global trade in efficient, light directing systems for diverse applications, which are seen to undergo a change based on LED technology, but which are also expected to become ever more popular.
The investment of ALANOD GmbH & Co. KG in WhiteOptics LLC. will be designed as a strategic partnership. Irrespective of mutually beneficial synergies in research and development, both companies will continue to pursue their sales strategies autonomously and independently. Ingo Beyer, CEO of the Alanod holding, and Eric Teather, President of WhiteOptics LLC, mark the investment as yet another step towards increasing either company’s efficiency and capacity for innovation.
